Crawler Mounted Drill Rigs

Based on Comacchio’s long-term experience in the field of geotechnics, this new product line (CX Line = Comacchio eXploration line) has been developed with a focus on mineral exploration applications. The hydraulic drilling rigs of the CX series are conceived as multipurpose units, able to perform multiple drilling methodologies. Specifically, all Comacchio CX drilling rigs can be configured for deep core drilling with wireline systems (Diamond Drilling), and for reverse circulation drilling with the use of a down-the-hole hammer and dual wall drill pipes (RC drilling). The Comacchio CX line includes a diversified selection of models, ranging from lightweight and compact units, suitable for exploration drilling up to 1000 m depth with NQ rods, to heavy weight drilling rigs, delivering up to 30 tonnes pull up capacity, reaching 3000 m drilling depth.

The Comacchio CX line was created to meet the most stringent safety standards of the mining industry, with a particular focus on eliminating the fatigue and possible risks associated with the manual handling of drilling equipment. Our large range of automated rod handling systems has been re-engineered to meet the needs of exploration drilling. Thanks to their compact size, our rod handling systems can be entirely installed on board the rig, allowing minimizing transport dimensions and the footprint of the equipment on site. In addition to that, Comacchio CX drilling rigs can be equipped with our proprietary radio control system, cable of controlling all machine functions and allowing for fully automated and remote controlled operations.

The Comacchio CX line also includes a unique reverse circulation drilling rig, featuring a super-efficient fully automated feed system and a patented rod carousel, designed for use in in-pit grade control programs.
