Drilltechniques newest development in rig design, the D-4T Landcruiser mounted geotechnical rig. There may be plenty of ute-mounted rigs out there, but none like this little beauty. Cameron and his team have built a unique machine, powered by the PTO of the Landcruiser 79 series that delivers 45 kW to the high-speed/high-torque rotary and hydraulic controls of the rig.
The rig is mounted directly to the chassis of the vehicle and not bolted to the tray. It features a dump frame for easy transport and offers fully automatic SPT along with hydraulically driven water/foam pump and a service winch.
Weight is always a challenge with ute mounted rigs and we have overcome this issue with the PTO drive as well as some innovative engineering that has reduced the overall weight of the rig.
The mast is made of high grade steel (not mild steel) and the components are all designed, engineered, machined and fabricated right here in our manufacturing facility in Brendale.
